Name:
Hayashi, Koji
Reaserch History:
- 1997-1998: I conducted an ecological anthropological study on whale hunting and dolphin drive hunting in a town called Taijicho in Wakayama prefecture.
- 1998-present: I am conducting research on a hunter-gatherer people, the Baka, who live in a tropical rainforest in the East Region of Cameroon. There, I am continuing research on the Baka peoples’ foraging activities; their life once they settle; and their social relations, mainly from an ecological anthropological point of view. Currently, for my individual research, I am also studying the relationship with wild animals such as African forest elephants (Loxodonta cyclotis) from an ethnic zoological perspective.
