Resource Use in Tropical Africa !Research Interests '''An Anthropological Study on Subsistence and Care Practice of Persons with Disabilities''' I have conducted regional research on people with disabilities in central African countries, including Cameroon and Congo, from the perspective of ecological anthropology with a focus on direct observation. People with disabilities are often seen as “needy people in societies” who are subject to aid and assistance. However, I think they take advantage of their high “social skills” because of their need for close relationships with those surrounding them to seek assistance. My study aims to understand such multi-layered society by grasping the real life of people with disabilities. {{linkimage http://jambo.africa.kyoto-u.ac.jp/cgi-bin/CameroonFS/wiki.cgi?action=ATTACH&page=%B8%CD%C5%C4+%C8%FE%B2%C2%BB%D2&file=Image0003%2EJPG,h:220}} {{linkimage http://jambo.africa.kyoto-u.ac.jp/cgi-bin/CameroonFS/wiki.cgi?action=ATTACH&page=%B8%CD%C5%C4+%C8%FE%B2%C2%BB%D2&file=Image0004%2EJPG,h:220}} !Current Research Topics *Persons with Disabilities and Business in Africa: A Case Study of Cross-Border Trade in the Congo River [>>external web site (in Japanese)|http://synodos.jp/international/15684] *Practical Research on the Peoples and Social Organizations to Prevent Over-Use of Forest Resources in Central African [>>external web site|http://www.fosas.africa.kyoto-u.ac.jp/english/indexenglish.html] !Selected Publications *TODA, M. 2015.“Trans-Border Persons with Disabilities: Their Disability Business at the Congo River and the State.” In Mori, S.
