Wild Plant Utilization of the Balese and the Efe of the Ituri Forest, the Republic of Zaire

ABSTRACT
   Quite many plants are used by the Balese cultivations and the Efe hunter-gatherers who live in the midst of the tropical rain forest of Zaire. In total, 533 pieces of use information on 281 plants were gathered and presented here with scientific names, botanical information, usage categories, the etymology of vernacular names, and comparative notes with the plant utilization observed among the Tetri net-hunters by Tanno (1981).
